This blog was created in May of 2008 to chronicle the adventures of Toad and the Professor. It seems that everyone has cute blog names, so why not us?!
This is a picture of the Professor. Looking very professorial. And yes, I do enjoy referring to myself in the third person.
These days the Professor is a Stay-at-Home Mama who writes through nap time and naps through action movies. Married to a woman who was eager both to carry their children and their mortgage, she spends spare moments thanking her lucking stars and trying to get the dog to quit barking. A psychologist by training, she’s traded data collection for truck collecting, journal articles for board books and mind control for …. well, mind control. She loves ginger snaps, the Bravo network and the occasional rainy day.
And this is the beloved Toad. This picture demonstrates how such a cute girl could have earned “Toad” as a nickname. Did you every play MarioKart or any of the Super Mario Brothers Nintendo games? If you did, you are certainly acquainted with the feisty Toad. Does she not bear a striking resemblance?
And this is the origin of the blog name. Blue in the Sky is a song from Joe Purdy’s You Can Tell Georgia album. Toad sent it through the ether (via Itunes) while we were still doing long distance. Our own version of the Casey Casum long distance dedication – “This song goes out to My Blue Sky”. Swoon….. It’s a great one and I’ve burned it up on repeat play.
This handsome young man (we call him Baker) joined the family in January of 2009. At the end of that same year we finally got something we had been working towards for quite some time….. a positive pregnancy test. So, in September of 2010 we welcomed a new member into the family. We call him Bean.
